Location based advertising | Engineering Student Project Ideas

Where can we make use of location based advertising ? Definitely it has to be on something that moves. Mobile, yes, but not this time. This about buses. All these buses travel many places, and most of the new ones have got electronic billboards. Why not run location based advertisements on them. The idea is to create a directory of locations (latitude and longitude) and advertisements.

An algorithm needs to be developed to find proximity to a location and change the advertisement based on that. Due to the complexity of the project, its better implemented on an embedded linux box. Coupled with GPRS, the advertisements can be updated on the fly, with out even having to stop the vehicle. The different modules of the project include an LED display controller, a GPS module and GPRS handler.

Automatic Car Parking System (APS)

Automatic Car Parking System (APS) is a quick and easy to use car parking system. In this car
parking system, the arrival of the car is detected automatically and the Gate is opened for the
car. Rather than recording car numbers and installing cameras for continuous monitoring of
vehicles inside garage, APS uses a secure way of saving unique passwords for drivers. The
driver can only leave the garage once he has submitted the correct password. The project
involves LCD display for continuously updating the incoming motorists of the current slot
positions inside the parking area. IR and RF are used for object detection and data transmission
respectively.

the idea could be implemented
have it the geo code of the device eithe mobile phone or bus as told here.
the geo code can be accesed by mobile phone using GPS that way and advertisement can be displayed

it is many way
1.scratch algorithm development

2. no need to redevelop that algorithm if wanna fast development to commercialise or result already libraries you can find use python
script to call those library

on vehicle also GPS device needs to get value and your application will simply invoke the advertisement.
